Appointments and payment
Appointments are arranged by email or telephone. The fee, session duration and cancellation notice period will be confirmed in writing before you book. See fees and contact information.
Payment by bank transfer is required within 24 hours of booking to secure your appointment. If payment is not received, the appointment will be cancelled. For bookings made less than 24 hours before a session, we will agree the payment deadline when booking. Bank details are provided directly.
Cancellations and missed sessions
Please contact me as soon as possible if you need to cancel or rearrange. Missed appointments and cancellations outside the notice period agreed before booking are charged at the full session fee, subject to applicable statutory rights.
If I cancel, you will not be charged. Any payment already made will be refunded or transferred to another appointment, according to your preference.
Late arrivals and online sessions
If you arrive late, the session will finish at the agreed time. If you have not arrived or contacted me within 15 minutes, the appointment will be treated as missed and I will no longer be available for that session.
Online sessions take place using Google Meet. Please use a private space and contact me promptly if technical difficulties prevent you from joining. We will discuss whether to reconnect or rearrange and how payment will be handled in the circumstances.
Ending counselling
You may end counselling at any time without giving a reason. A final session can be helpful but is not compulsory. Fees already due under the agreed cancellation policy remain payable.
If I need to pause or end our work, I will explain why and discuss next steps wherever possible. This might happen if a conflict of interest arises, the support you need is outside my competence, fees remain unpaid, or health or safety concerns prevent us from continuing. An immediate safety concern may require a session to end without notice.
Contact and urgent support
Email mihocounselling@gmail.com about appointments or our work. Messages are not continuously monitored and an immediate response cannot be guaranteed. MIHO Counselling does not provide emergency or crisis support.
- Immediate danger or an emergency: call 999 or go to A&E.
- Urgent mental health support: contact NHS 111 or request an urgent GP appointment. In England, call 111 and select the mental health option.
- Someone to listen: call Samaritans free on 116 123, available 24 hours a day.
Outside the UK, contact local emergency or crisis services.
Our agreement
Before counselling begins, you will receive the full counselling agreement and have an opportunity to ask questions. This website provides an overview of the practice arrangements.
